Malala is a 14-year-old girl from the Swat valley in Pakistan. She was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen for standing up for girls rights; particularly, the right of girls to be able to go to school.

As of this post she is still alive and our hearts and hopes go out to Malala and her family.
